"...an integral part of ...development of multi-platform outlets for our programming. We consider Glerin a partner in our success..."
Tom B., radio network owner
Our mission is to leverage the power of mobile technology and the internet to help our clients engage their customers through merged print and digital media marketing. Since Glerin's inception in 1996, we have worked to help businesses and organizations compete on the global stage.
In the 90's, before e-commerce software was available to anyone other than large corporations, we developed an online store for a sailboat guide that resulted in the guide being sold online to customers on every continent in the world except Antarctica. These books were also some of the first independently published books to be sold on Amazon. In 1999, to begin moving the guide from a print to digital medium, we developed a searchable web database of thousands of sailboat model specs as an adjunct to the guide. This was, and still is, the only database of its kind in the world. We have brainstormed with clients to develop new product ideas that have been taken successfully to market, including membership-based websites and digital product offerings. We love what we do and live it every day.
Lisa Kipps-Brown founded Glerin Business Resources in 1996. Bored with accounting, she was intrigued with the idea of being able to use her business experience in a more creative way, and web development ended up being the perfect fit. Lisa provides a unique combination of experience in business ownership and management, computer programming, and website design and development, while her team of designers bring a fresh perspective to Glerin's projects.
Lisa holds an Accounting degree from Virginia Tech and, in addition to her entrepreneurial and website development experience, other experience includes US Controller of an international software company, Assistant Controller for an exclusive furniture manufacturer, and Internal Auditor for a bank. She is on the Board of Directors of the Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County, the Technology Committee for the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Southern Piedmont Technology Council, the Rural Broadband Technology Council, and the Last Mile Fiber Optic Initiative for Halifax. She passed the CPA exam in 1983 but is currently not practicing - and gives thanks for that every day.
